about our club

The Zebras’ membership is drawn largely from the inner suburbs of Melbourne. The players are local, predominately from Brunswick, Fitzroy, Northcote and Coburg. While we enjoy the club’s rich Italian heritage, our membership nowadays is also a reflection of Australian society, with players, coaches, club officials and supporters from extraordinarily diverse cultural backgrounds and every strata of society.
The club’s progressive approach of ensuring that everyone who joins the club is given the chance of playing has obviously struck a chord with the broader community. Brunswick Zebras Football Club’s membership has grown from 380 registered players and 19 teams in the 2005 season to over 640 players and 34 teams in 2023 including 140 children who participated in the under 8 year old Saturday Skills Program program. There are 8 female teams – as well as girls playing in mixed Miniroos and Juniors teams – and they make up 25% of the players.
With the assistance of Merri-bek Council and City of Melbourne, Brunswick Zebras utilise a variety of grounds in the inner north – from Parkville to East Brunswick – for matches and training.
