OUR COMMITTEE, OFFICEHOLDERS AND COORDINATORS
Carlo has been involved in the Brunswick Zebras for 13 years – as a parent, coach, committee member and Club President. He is a longstanding fan of the beautiful game, and believes the role of the club includes social responsibility and inclusion, while promoting the interests of members, players and volunteers beyond the sphere of sport.
He has a strong commitment to health provision, land use planning, and building democratic institutions, and is a sessional university lecturer in public policy at Victoria University.
He has worked for a number of Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and for the Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation in East Gippsland, and was the local member of Parliament for Brunswick for over 16 years.
Daniel is a construction professional with experience in the areas of architecture, design, procurement and contracts. He has worked predominantly in the challenging sectors of defence, health and infrastructure, most notably on Aami Park, the Victorian Cancer Centre and the Metro Tunnel.
Having been ‘dragged’ or substituted before half time at Sumner Park in a loss against the mighty Brunswick Zebras over 15 years ago Daniel decided to join his brother and long-time Zebra in our senior mens team the following year. Since then he has played, coached and for the last 5 years been part of the executive, principally managing the senior men’s state and metropolitan league setup.
Sam has been involved in Brunswick Zebras as a parent of two young players that started playing in 2022. She started out as a Miniroos Girls Coach and Boys Team Manager for one season then volunteered to help in coordinate the Miniroos teams in 2023. She enjoys building a sense of belonging with new families into the Zebras club and is always on the hunt to improve organisation and support the local community sports club where possible.
Sam is a PE Teacher in the Special Education Secondary field and also has many years of coordinating District Interschool Sports programs in this sector too. Through her passion in teaching through the sports area for many years, she has a keen vision to see all players succeed to their full potential in a supportive and safe community environment.
Luke has been a local resident for more than 20 years, and has had a connection with Brunswick Zebras since his eldest son joined the club in 2011. He volunteered as a juniors team manager in 2016, gradually increased his involvement and is now a committee member and coordinator of the juniors program. He also continues to coach a juniors group that he has guided since 2019.
He has a strong belief in the importance of community, and the role of team sport in building bonds and creating social capital. He is a partner in a creative agency working predominantly with clients in the cultural sector.
Kevin has been with Brunswick Zebras for 16 years and has been involved with the club in a number of Junior (Girls and Boys) and Senior coaching positions.
He has been a Director of the Committee since 2015 and has recently taken on the role of Operations Manager for the club. Kevin recently concluded a 39 year career in the international insurance industry, based both in London and Melbourne, where he held a number of Senior Management and Executive appointments.
George is a dedicated technical professional that has been involved with community sport for most of his life. He has been involved with the club since 2018 , coaching state level teams and assisting the Zebras committee. He is passionate about giving players all the support and opportunity to improve their fitness and football skills for game days.
He has a wealth of experience with volunteering and community club committees, and 10 years with Coburg Little Athletics as technical director, President, and sprint coach.
Janelle is a dedicated primary school teacher with a decade of experience in educating young minds. With a keen eye for cleanliness and a heart for community sport, she takes pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for club members and visitors to Sumner and Balfe park.
As the Child Safety Officer, she is committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for young athletes as they learn, play, and grow in the world of soccer.
Mark has been involved with Brunswick Zebras FC 21 for years — as a junior and senior player, coach and committee member. He is a founding member of the club’s relaunched senior men’s setup in 2006, and he has since taken an active leadership role in establishing and fostering a culture of kindness, community and volunteerism at the club. He is a fanatical AC Milan supporter, but the black and white zebra stripes are equally as important to him.
Beyond football, he is a History and Global Politics teacher. He has plied his trade in Australian and International schools, with a particular passion for conceptual, globally-minded and holistic learning.
Robyn has been involved with Brunswick Zebras for what seems like a very long time, initially as a parent, then as a team manager for quite a few years before taking on the role of Secretary undertaking numerous administration and organisational roles within the club, a role undertaken for many years. This then evolved into the role of Club Administrator.
Robyn’s background is that of administration and bookkeeping, having undertaken numerous such roles in insurance, general business, medical administration, entertainment venues to name a few, both locally and overseas, as well as owning a local craft store for many years.
